40 Days of Growth - Join Us
Prayer for 14 November

O Lord, how long shall I cry, and you will not hear? I even cry out to you, "Violence!" and you will not save. Why do you show me iniquity, and cause me to see trouble? For plundering and violence are before me; there is strife, and contention arises. Therefore the law is powerless, and justice never goes forth. The wicked surround the righteous and, therefore, perverse judgment proceeds. Jesus, I know that you can relate to my suffering. Spirit, help me to grow more intimate with you so that I might be more honest and open to the Father about how I am feeling. God take me to a place where I am able to lament my sufferings and still live by faith.

Amen.

Part of what makes life worth living and satisfying is to be connected to other people in meaningful relationships. It's one thing to say it, and to believe it, yet something quite different to live it out. We encourage you to find a small group of believers to connect with and to share your life with. You won't look back, we promise.

Information About Forty Days of Growth

To get the most out of the 40 Days of Growth it is important that you do your part.  The sermon series, Small Group curriculum, and Large Group activities all compliment Bill Hull’s book, Choose the Life.  Accordingly, it is a good idea to get your hands on a book so that you are able to do your readings ahead of time.  Reading along is not absolutely necessary but it is strongly advised.

In order to make this easier for you the following list is a week by week outline of which chapters are going to be covered.  The heaviest reading is clearly at the beginning, so it would be a good idea to start reading early.

15 October:

Preface, Chapters 1-2  (Pages 9-42)

22 October:

Chapters 3-4 (Pages 43-80)

29 October:

We have books on sale for $12.00 at the Small Groups Table (across from the Nursery) following each service every Sunday leading up to our kick-off.  Bill Hull summarizes Choose the Life by writing, “The church struggles with what it means to follow Jesus.  This book, therefore, will explore five dimensions of discipleship:

Believe what Jesus believed (transformed mind)

Live as Jesus lived (transformed character)

Love as Jesus loved (transformed relationships)

Minister as Jesus ministered (transformed service)

Lead as Jesus led (transformed influence)” (pg. 14)

We hope that you will journey with us through Choose the Life so that we can be transformed together.
